IP law, practice and procedures Commercializing the IP

In this two hour short course you will learn all about intellectual property:

  • In the first half, you will learn what intellectual property is, why it is protected, the different types of intellectual property, how to acquire it and what you can do with it.

  • In the second half, you will learn how to make money from your intellectual property with or without the assistance of your University, as well as looking at best practice and case studies from other international universities in particular Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial College London.

During the workshop the following issues will be addressed and Mr. Kounoupias will be available for further questions and clarifications:

  • How to identify, monetise, manage and protect IP

  • Understanding the Different Forms of Intellectual Property – protecting each category

  • Protecting Trade Secrets-confidential information using Non-Disclosure Agreements

  • What to watch out in IPR provisions in contracts
