Synopsis: 

This lecture introduces students to the key funding options available for startups in Cyprus and Greece, including incubators/accelerators, grants, angel investors, venture capital, and crowdfunding. Crowdfunding is highlighted as an innovative way to raise capital by engaging a large number of individuals, offering benefits like marketing exposure, concept validation, and community building. The lecture also covers best practices for securing investment, such as maintaining realistic valuations and structuring funding rounds strategically, while addressing common pitfalls like equity dilution and overvaluation. Through practical insights and examples, students gain a clear understanding of how to navigate the fundraising landscape effectively.

Few words about Frixos: BSc Economics & Finance from University of Surrey, Master’s in Financial Analysis from London Business School. Experienced in investment banking, insurance, wealth management and technology sector. Passed CFA Level I and II exams.

Few words about Panayiotis: BSc Business Mathematics & Statistics from London School of Economics, Master’s in Financial Analysis from London Business School. Experienced in Strategy & Transactions Advisory. Passed CFA Level I and II exams.
