C4E 101: Series of Lectures in Innovation and Entrepreneurship - Spring 2025-2026

Synopsis:

The lecture will offer a practical path for turning ideas into real-world impact, comparing startup and non-startup routes and helping participants choose opportunities worth pursuing. It will cover rapid, evidence-driven validation through minimum viable products (with real examples), as well as the most common execution pitfalls, from poor prioritization to neglecting analytics and early users. Participants will also receive a clear overview of fundraising stages (pre-seed to Series A and beyond), investor types, and common myths.

 

The Speaker:

Artemis Kontou is a researcher in AI in healthcare and entrepreneur with a strong focus on innovation management and growth. She has co-founded several ventures, including Malloc, a privacy and data security startup with over 1 million global downloads, and she is the founder of Tseepor, a developing real estate company creating modern, sustainable projects. She holds two international patents, reflecting her commitment to advancing technology and innovation. Artemis earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London, an MSc in Meteorology, and a BSc in Applied Mathematics. Her career includes roles such as Research Infrastructure Manager at the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence, Research Associate at the Shell University Technology Centre at Imperial College London, and Research Associate at Akzo Nobel. She serves as a National Delegate for the ISO 56001 Innovation Management System series of standards, a member of the Board of Directors of Medtl Medical Technologies and is an appointed Member of the Board of Directors of the Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In addition, Artemis mentors deep-tech startups through WomenTechEU, with a focus on innovation and commercialization.
