Course Title: Special Seminars in Entrepreneurship and Innovation I/II

Language: Greek or English (depending on the subject and group of students attending the course).
ECTS: 3 ECTs are awarded to students completing the courses. Each trainer will be responsible to carry out the assessment in collaboration with the Director of the Center. The main part of the assessment will be the quality/ innovativeness of the deliverables that will be developed during the course. Deliverables can be a written project/report, a design of a prototype of a product, service, or process etc. Pass or Fail grading system will be applied.

Course Purpose and Objectives:
The main goal of this course is for University of Cyprus students to acquire understanding and practical experience in a specific subject related to innovation and entrepreneurship. The goal of the course is to create inter-departmental groups to carry out a specific project, which will be the main element of their assessment. Possible topics include: Product Design, Design Thinking, Intellectual Property Rights, Lean Startup Methodology, Business Model Canvas Methodology, Technological Entrepreneurship, Rapid Prototyping and Makerspaces.
*C4E 103/104 courses will be provided during the summer semester on an intensive basis, depending on the availability of relevant instructors/trainers (e.g., 40 hours/week). The total workload will be 72 hours.
Course Content:
Intensive summer courses in Innovation and Entrepreneurship which will be organized by C4E in specialized subjects such as Product Design, Design Thinking, Intellectual Property Rights, Creativity and Innovation, Lean Startup Methodology, Business Model Canvas Methodology, Technological Entrepreneurship, Rapid Prototyping and Makerspaces. These courses will be open to UCY’s alumni as part of life- long learning initiatives provided to them by the University of Cyprus.
Instructors/Trainers will be well-known entrepreneurs, academics, professionals and investors from Cyprus and abroad, who are willing to share their knowledge and experience with students.
Learning Outcomes: By completing this course students will:

  • Familiarize themselves with specialized subjects related to entrepreneurship and innovation.
  • Implement tools and methodologies by completing related projects.
  • Network with students from other disciplines and departments to complement their knowledge to resolve an entrepreneurial issue or develop an entrepreneurial idea.
